| | Last night, I went to see Freedomland with my mother and step-father. The stars in the film are Samuel L. Jackson (Lorenzo Council) & Julianne Moore (Brenda Martin). Brenda's son goes missing after what she says was a carjacking and detective Lorenzo is given the case. After a few days passes her son is believed to be dead and soon a racial controversy is started since she says the carjacker was an African-American and they close down the projects where the kidnapping happened to try to find the suspect. Later a missing person activist helps Lorenzo unsolve the case and they discover something far more than a carjacking/kidnapping.
I thought this movie was really good, Julianna's acting in this film was amazing. It was nothing like The Forgotten when she played a mother whose child just disappears and everyone around her acts like the child never exsisted it was far more than that. But in Freedomland she had to play an addict who has been clean for 5 years, but ir was clear she might have a few mental problems. But who wouldn't after their child has gone missing? Samuel L. Jackson's character had a few problems of his own as well, but lets not spoil the film too much for those who haven't seen it. Trust me, go see this movie!!
