Freedomland

Last night, I went to see Freedomland with my mother and step-father. The stars in the film are Samuel L. Jackson (Lorenzo Council) & Julianne Moore (Brenda Martin). Brenda's son goes missing after what she says was a carjacking and detective Lorenzo is given the case. After a few days passes her son is believed to be dead and soon a racial controversy is started since she says the carjacker was an African-American and they close down the projects where the kidnapping happened to try to find the suspect. Later a missing person activist helps Lorenzo unsolve the case and they discover something far more than a carjacking/kidnapping.

I thought this movie was really good, Julianna's acting in this film was amazing. It was nothing like The Forgotten when she played a mother whose child just disappears and everyone around her acts like the child never exsisted it was far more than that. But in Freedomland she had to play an addict who has been clean for 5 years, but ir was clear she might have a few mental problems. But who wouldn't after their child has gone missing? Samuel L. Jackson's character had a few problems of his own as well, but lets not spoil the film too much for those who haven't seen it. Trust me, go see this movie!!

I'm in trouble.

Nothing new has really happened except me recieving a citation/fine for something I never even started. How can I recieve a citation & fine while the others don't recieve anything at all? They wanted to fight me, prank call me, call me several racist things, and cause all this drama but I get blamed for it all? I'm being blamed for trying to intiate (spelling?) a fight, threatening, obscene language, and whatever else. It is a $144.50 fine for something I never actually did. The person who pressed charges bragged that she knew the officer who was sending me a citation, and the officer was suppose to speak to me and my sister before they did anything but never did. I am so mad about this whole situation. I think we are going to press charges too because how can someone just press charges and then there be no investigation in to the matter? The whole law system is confusing and very messed up. My plan is to plead not guilty and appear in court. I am not a bad person, I do get involved in things if people start it. I am a calm and quiet person, I keep to myself if you keep to yourself. I have no idea what else to say, I am just very angry right now.

The soundtrack to this movie contains a song written by Italian singer Elisa (26) and features vocals by Rock Queen Tina Turner (67). The lead single Teach Me Again is very moving and powerful. Considering the slim pickings for Best Song nominees at the Academy Awards [Oscars], this song could definitely make it.

The Pretender Season 3

One of my favorite shows that was cancelled a couple years ago is finally releasing Season 3 on dvd, I already have the Season 1 & 2 boxsets and can't wait to buy this one. It will be released Feb. 14 and it is called The Pretender. It is about a man named Jarod who was kidnapped when he was a child for his ability to impersonate any job he'd like. He was kidnapped by a group known as The Centre and they use him for any job, good or bad, as long as they get a good amount of money. After awhile he discovers his ability isn't being used for good and escapes to find his family, while searching for them he helps people along the way by using his ability. The Centre is constantly trying to catch him so he has to run quickly from every place to a new place, this show is full of adventure and action and worth every cent. It is and will always be my favorite show, even if it was cancelled.

Heard some bad news about a friend yesterday, Jessica. Her boyfriend called my sister to tell her that Jess had to get brain surgery because she had bleeding in the brain, she collapased and had a seizure and the doctor did a CT scan and found this out. My sister was crying.. I was shocked & I still am. We can only pray she will make it through this, which I know she will. I really don't know what else to say, this whole situation seems to surreal, like a dream.. No nightmare.. I don't know..

Bre can drive?

I was pretty skeptical about Bre's driving skills, but I guess what I should have been worried about was her car. It stalled like 10 times today or would go slow like 1 MPH. And it stalled in all the wrong places, like a busy highway. People behind us were pretty mad, they kept beeping & passing us yelling or flipping her off. I felt bad. Anyways, I guess I should have believed Kayla when she vouched for how well Bre drove. Woo hoo, and Bre's mom bought a van today so we will be cruising in it tomorrow even though I am not fond of vans. They are known for being the 'mother/suburban housewive' or 'old people' vehicle. Something along those lines, but it is better than walking. Fun day, now is time for some sleep.
